TRAINING

Janice Vitavec studied from master of Thai Massage, Chongkol Setthakorn, at the Institute of Thai Massage in Chiang Mai, Thailand. She received certification in advanced levels of Traditional Thai Massage as well as certification in Advanced Teacher Training.

She has received training at The Old Medicine Hospital.

Janice has studied extensively one-to-one with Master Lek Chaiya (known as "Mama Lek") where she received certification in Traditional Thai Herbal Massage and "Jap-Sen" or Nerve Touch (southern style). Janice has hosted Lek in the USA since 2002, they co-teach Beginner and Advanced trainings.

Janice is a certified Yoga Instructor trained at the Vivekananda Kendra Yoga Research Institute, Bangalore, India.

Janice has spent extended periods of time in Thailand including a 6 month Intensive study in Traditional Thai Massage. She has immersed herself in Thai culture by travelling to Thailand twice every year for the last 10 years to continue to develop her skills and knowledge. She has studied in class and one-to-one with Masters throughout Thailand both formally and informally accruing over 3000 training hours. She has been teaching for 10 years and has trained close to a thousand students. Janice is recognized by her teachers as an Advanced Instructor, the programs offered at Spirit Winds School of Thai Massage are "Sister" programs to The Institute of Thai Massage and Lek Chaiya Nerve Touch Herbal Massage.
